Privacy
Your privacy.
This policy explains how personal information is handled under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner's guidance.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers GOLD STAR INSURANCE SERVICES LIMITED and the way James Li handles personal information in the course of providing, or preparing to provide, financial advice on behalf of Wealthpoint Limited.
What is collected
When you use the online enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, any phone number you choose to provide, the enquiry category, and your message. We also record the form language, source page, country code supplied by Cloudflare, and limited browser information for security and troubleshooting. You may also provide information by email or phone. This website has no accounts and no online payment.
Why it is collected
Information is collected to respond to your enquiry, to prepare and provide advice if you choose to engage James, to meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to financial advice, and to keep records of the advice relationship.
How it is used and shared
Information is used only for the purpose it was collected for, or a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect. Because advice is provided on Wealthpoint's behalf, relevant information may be handled within Wealthpoint's systems and processes. Information may also be shared where the law requires it, or where you ask us to, for example when instructing us to arrange cover with an insurer.
Storage and security
Reasonable steps are taken to keep personal information safe from loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. Information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. Online form submissions are stored in a restricted Cloudflare database and sent as an email notification using Resend. A short-lived, one-way identifier is used to limit repeated submissions. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to check that a submission is made by a person and may process technical information needed to prevent abuse.
Using the enquiry form
Please do not put policy numbers, health information, payment details, or other sensitive information in the form. The form is intended only to begin a conversation. If your enquiry develops into financial advice, James will explain the appropriate way to collect any further information. You can choose to contact James directly by email or phone instead of using the form.
Analytics on this website
Analytics cookies are on by default until you reject them. Google Analytics 4 may use first-party cookies and receive information about pages visited, your browser and device, and contact actions on this site. We count online enquiries only after the form confirms successful delivery. We also count clicks on phone and email links. These events do not include form answers, names, email addresses, phone numbers or enquiry IDs. Page URLs sent to Google omit query strings.
If you reject analytics cookies, this site stops Google Analytics and does not load it on later visits. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Your choice is saved in your browser. Rejecting analytics removes this site's analytics cookies and stops future analytics loading. A random request marker is kept for this browser session after a successful form response to prevent duplicate lead counts; it contains no form answers and is not sent to Google. Your separate agreement to use the enquiry form only covers responding to your enquiry.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. To make a request, email james.li@certusnz.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner via privacy.org.nz.
